About 25-30%* of all dogs suffer from canine arthritis.
Osteoarthritis is the most common cause of chronic pain in dogs.**

Early signs of arthritis in your pet may include: personality change; limping; reluctance to walk or play; yelping in pain when touched or difficulty rising from a resting position.

How Adequan® Canine works

Adequan® Canine (Polysulfated glycosaminoglycan or PSGAG) is a disease modifying osteoarthritis drug (DMOAD) recommended for the treatment of noninfectious degenerative and/or traumatic arthritis and associated lameness of canine synovial joints.

  • Inhibits proteolytic enzymes
    that degrade cartilage and exacerbate
    inflammation in diseased joints.
  • Improves joint function
    by stimulating synovial membrane activity,
    reducing synovial inflammation, and
    increasing synovial fluid hyaluronic
    acid content. ***
  • Diminishes the catabolic processes
that lead to loss of cartilage
    matrix components.
  • Addresses the disease process,
    decreases articular pain and improves
range of motion of arthritic joints.***

Recommended dose is 4.4 mg/kg (2 mg/lb)
by IM injection 2 times a week for a maximum
of 8 injections over a 4 week period.
Avoid IV administration.
